Everyone in the construction industry knows how much time and energy goes into planning, procuring, invoicing, and building each project. Construction projects involve a variety of best practices – and luckily for us, there are lots of construction resources for contractors looking for ways to modernize their business practices. To help, I’ve compiled a list of 10 of my favorite resources!
1. Canadian Construction Association
The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) represents more than 20,000 member firms. As the national voice of Canada’s non-residential construction industry, CCA plays a significant role in the development of relevant public policy; the legal and standards development goals of contractors, suppliers, and allied business professionals; and the promotion and dissemination of information related to industry advances in innovation and technology.
2. On-Site Magazine
A national magazine that covers infrastructure projects, asphalt and concrete applications, legal issues and the latest equipment and construction software.
3. CAWIC – Canadian Association of Women in Construction
CAWIC’s mandate is to facilitate the long-term success of women in Canada’s construction fields. CAWIC dates back to 1982, when a group of Toronto area professional women working in construction formed the Toronto Chapter 295 of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in October 2005.
4. GCPay Blog
Join hundreds of general contractors who get updates from the GCPay Blog every month. This construction-focused blog keeps up with topics on technology, application for payment best practices, system functionality, and key industry trends.
5. Construction Dive
A daily email newsletter that covers commercial building, design, and regulations. Construction Dive gives insight into the most impactful news and trends shaping the construction industry and is operated by Industry Dive.

6. British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA)
BCCA’s mission is to ensure a productive and resilient construction industry. It aims to protect contractors’ interests with the provincial government, provides expert procurement services, and access to project opportunities.
7. Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA)
Founded in 1939 by a group of 11 general contracting firms, the OGCA has grown into the largest representative association in the construction industry. The OGCA has worked for more than 75 years to build Ontario by assisting its members to deliver construction excellence.
8. Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS)
The Construction Association of Nova Scotia is the leading voice of the construction industry represented by members, government, industry, and the public. CANS represents almost 800 member companies throughout the Atlantic Canada who participate in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction.
9. Toronto Construction Association
Toronto Construction Association (TCA) is one of the oldest and largest associations of ICI practitioners in Canada. TCA strives to create opportunities for its members to grow their individual businesses and build connections with other construction practitioners to boost the growth and quality of Toronto’s construction industry.
10. Construction Executive
Construction Executive is the magazine for the business of construction. It reaches more than 
150,000+ contractors and construction-related business owners. This publication was launched by Associated Builders and Contractors in 2003 and is a great source for news, market developments, and business issues impacting construction.
